Trauma Informed Care in Perimenopause

This advanced educational session explores the intersection of trauma physiology and perimenopause, equipping health professionals with a deeper, systems-based understanding of symptom presentation and treatment response.
Rather than viewing perimenopause as an isolated hormonal transition, this course reframes it as a neuroendocrine and neurological shift that interacts with accumulated stress physiology across the lifespan. Participants will examine how hormonal variability, HPA axis dysregulation, and autonomic nervous system sensitivity converge to amplify symptoms such as insomnia, anxiety, vasomotor instability, pain, and mood changes.
The session introduces a trauma-informed clinical framework to improve diagnostic accuracy, patient communication, and treatment outcomes. Clinicians will learn how to differentiate between primary perimenopausal symptoms and those amplified by trauma or chronic stress, and how to apply layered, multidisciplinary treatment strategies.
