Dr. Harita Raja
Harita Raja, MD is a board-certified psychiatrist with a specialized focus in women’s mental health. She is the founder of Bethesda Women’s Mental Health, a practice dedicated to providing compassionate, expert psychiatric care tailored to the unique needs of women. Dr. Raja is known for her collaborative approach—working closely with patients, their loved ones, and other providers to develop thoughtful, personalized treatment plans.
Dr. Raja earned her medical degree from Albany Medical College in Albany, NY, and completed her psychiatry residency at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC, where she served as Chief Resident in her final year. She remains actively involved in academic medicine as an instructor in the Department of Psychiatry at Georgetown University Hospital.
A recognized voice in her field, Dr. Raja has authored multiple publications, including peer-reviewed articles and a book chapter on women’s mental health. She has presented her work at both local and national psychiatric conferences and is the founder of the DMV Menopause Providers Group. Through clinical care, teaching, and advocacy, Dr. Raja is committed to empowering women and their communities by promoting a holistic and informed approach to mental health.
